Our Story

Animal Talent - Louise

From dog lover to training instructor and champion dog sports competitor, Louise Harding always knew dogs were where her passion lay. But it wasn’t just limited to dogs, there were cats, hedgehogs, geese, parrots, sheep, horses, rats, cows, budgies, goats and rabbits that rounded out her menagerie. Louise was a gifted trainer who turned her hand to train all manner of animal species.

Never one to sit still, she embarked on making this animal caper her full-time career. ‘Do what you love’ were the words that kept her pushing on. In 2005, back in New Zealand, she established Animal Talent and began supplying animal actors to the film and television industry. Now an accomplished trainer and wrangler it was time to add another hit of adrenaline to the mix, sled dog racing. Life was full of fun and adventure and then came the twist.

In 2007 her husband, three young children and an entourage of four-legged companions in tow she moved across the ditch to Australia. Though homesickness frequently rears its head, she hasn’t looked back since.

With courage and a whole lot of dogged determination, Louise established the Aussie iteration of Animal Talent on the Central Coast NSW. With no local contacts, the only way to spread the word was to make some fliers and walk around the local area doing letterbox drops and cold calling Sydney based production companies.

Over time the demand for classes outgrew the front yard of the family home and a more suitable was needed. Animal Talent found it's home, nestled in a valley near Woy Woy Bay.  It’s a great space for dogs and owners alike to come together in the spirit of learning.

The business continues to expand and now offers a range of training options including group classes, private lessons, workshops, online training modules, seminars and online private lessons.
